Good morning! I have a busy week ahead but I feel excited about it after coming off a great weekend! We were in town for the first time in a while, so there was a lot to get done. I volunteered to work a triathlon on Saturday morning, so I woke up early and headed off to the course. I directed runners to make sure they stayed on course. It was actually a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. I have never done a triathlon, but it was inspiring to watch all the other folks, both athletes and total novices give their all throughout the race. Have you ever done a triathlon? I’m debating if I should do one now.
After the triathlon, I met Hubs and the puppy for a trip to the farmer’s market. Once we got back home, we started working on the all consuming weekend project: preparing our deck for staining. When we moved into our house in October, they told us to let the deck weather for 6 months, and then stain it. Weeeelll it’s been a little longer than 6 months, but now we are working on getting it stained. The first step is to clean the deck, which took basically all day Saturday and part of Sunday.
I have to admit, Hubs did most of the hard work, but it was an epic pain in the ass. Even Bailey wasn’t impressed with the total disruption of her deck:
We had great plans to put the stain on the deck Sunday afternoon, but there were a few pop up storms, and there are a few storms in the forecast for the next day or so. Because the stain is supposed to stay dry for at least 72 hours after application, we are holding off and hope to stain the deck sometime this week when the weather is better. Hopefully we will get it done soon.
How was your weekend?
